What are the active ingredients in Tiger Balm products?

Camphor

Found in most of our products, camphor increases local blood flow and is a counterirritant, which reduces pain and swelling. It provides temporary relief of minor muscle and joint aches and pains caused by strains, sprains, bruises, arthritis, and simple backaches.

Cajuput

Cajuput oil is primarily known for its antiseptic and analgesic qualities. When applied externally, it increases local blood flow and creates mild rubefacient (redness on skin). It is also traditionally used with other volatile oils for the relief of respiratory tract disorders and nasal congestion.

Dementholised Mint

Dementholised Mint Oil is extracted from Mentha oil. It is a traditional herbal medicine used for the symptomatic relief of localised muscular aches and pains.

Menthol

Menthol causes an initial sensation of coolness that is soon followed by a sensation of warmth. It helps temporarily relieve minor pains, including those caused by arthritis, backaches, bruising, cramps, muscle strains or sprains, and tendonitis.

Clove

Clove has historically been used for its antiseptic, topical analgesic and counterirritant effects. It is often used in combination with other medicinal ingredients for the purpose of relieving pain in muscles or joints by reducing inflammation.

Cinnamon I Cassia

Cinnamon oil has been used in traditional medicine for decades. It provides local pain relief with rubefacient action. It is included in preparations for musculoskeletal and joint disorders.

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus produced analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. It can be applied to the skin as rubefacient for rheumatism. It is often used for inhalation in combination with other volatile substances in aromatherapy and for the treatment of cold and flu.

Capsicum Extract

Capsicum is an active component of chili peppers. It provides temporary relief of minor muscle and joint aches and pains caused by arthritis, backaches, strains, and sprains.
